I have been on a mini european tour for the last 2 weeks, traveling to spain for the opening round of the BIU world championship, and the 3rd round of the UCI trials world cup In belgium.

In Spain i was competiting in the Elite class, one of only 3 brits in the class, after being seeded into the class last year. There were 22 riders entered, but only 15 made the start ( scared!) I finished in 14th place, i never thought i would be so happy with beating one person, but the level of riders was so high, and the course and conditions were so hard i was just happy to finish the day in one piece! I think i could of made it a few places higher if i had had my head in gear at the start, but im not too bothered.

After spain it was Belgium. The competition was held on a very busy tourist beach, and last year attracted over 30,00 people. This year unfortunatly it didnt, as it was raining and windy for most of the weekend. There were still quite a few people watching in the crowds..
I finished qualification in 19th, but only the top 12 went through to the semi finals. Im annoyed by this because i was riding very well, and beating some riders who are much more experienced than me, and who i had never beaten before, but i had some nasty crashy which messed up my day a bit.( like nearly faceplanting a big sharp rock, and having my foot slip off the peddle as i was about to do a drop, that was 15 foot in the air! i saved it though haha)

Next week i will be going to Japan for the final round of the Biu world championship. Japan is always a great event, so i am really looking forward to it, and hope i can have a good ride when im there.
